Week 6 EOC: Illicit Trade
Illicit trade is a form of cheating. It is completely unfair to the people that work hard to make a living. I really do feel bad about this especially because i major in fashion and retail management. If anyone ever made a fake out of one of my products, i would go completely crazy because it is something i worked so hard to establish. It is just not fair at all.
Watching the movie made me realize how bad this issue is. There are tons of factories and workers involved in this black market. I think it is such a shame how many people are willing to get into trouble and risk their name for this kind of living. What offends me even more are the people willing to buy these products. Why buy a fake knowing it's a fake? You are just lying to yourself. This whole market is a scam not only to the original retailer, but the seller and buyer as well.

Week 4 EOC: Jeopardy Game Experience
I had a lot of fun playing the Jeopardy Game. It was a great technique to learn the material and challenge our minds. Working as a group, we were able to attain the information each other had and find easier ways to memorize it as well. My competitive side really drove me to push myself and study harder to win against the other groups. It also helped that all of our questions varied from each other because we covered a lot of topics. Losing and winning all these rounds really helped to make the material stick.
I was really suprised that our group won and that i was able to answer the final Jeopardy question correctly since i felt kind of handicapped for not having a book last class. I am extremely happy we won and even happier that we were rewarded 37 points towards the midterm.
I really appreciated this activity and everything i have learned from it, it was definitely a great way to learn new and lengthy material. I was very overwhelmed at first about everything we had to learn but looking back on it now, this method was effective and not only that, but it was fun as well.

Week 2 EOC: Erin Brockovich
Erin Brockovich was able to gather 634 plaintiffs. She & Ed put in so much hard work that the judge was able to examine the evidence & award them 338 million dollars. This huge amount was divided into the amount of plaintiffs. Erin Brockovich was awarded 2 million for all her hard work which was more than she had originally expected to get. The case only took 9 months & was settled as a binding arbitration.
The story was very inspiring because in the beginning everyone not only doubted her but they also heavily judged her for physical appearance.
They didn't take into consideration the things she's been through and the things she could do. The only thing they saw was a single mother who liked to dress in short skirts, they didn't see the intelligence she had to offer. Erin Brockovich was a smart woman who knew exactly what she wanted and knew how to stand for what she believes in.
This was a perfect example, especially for women to stand for yourself and when people doubt you, it should give you all the reason to prove them wrong. What doesn't kill you should only make you stronger, no one has the right to judge you except yourself.
